TRM will face off against the Central Coosa Cougars (5-5) in the first round of the playoffs this Friday at home.

Central Coosa is scoring an average of 32.1 points per game this season. A lot of scoring has come from their quarterback, junior Raymond Graham. Graham has completed 47 percent of his passes for 1027 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the ground he has rushed for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns. Senior running back Rodriquez Whetstone is second on the team in touchdowns, scoring 15 times on 165 carries for 1,193 yards.

“(Graham) is a really quick and strong runner. (Central Coosa) has done a great job utilizing him.

The coaches really do a good job utilizing all their skilled talent. But (Harris) does a great job running the ball. No one has really done a good job slowing him up this season. They also have a really good running back [Whetstone]. He’s a strong runner. So between those two, they have caused a lot of issues for defenses. They also have some good receivers. So we have to find a way to slow them down.”

TRM outscored opponents 277-148 this season.

Opponents are averaging 35 points per game against the Cougars.

Junior linebacker Shakerian Hayes and Jayterius Hill are a part of the defense for Central Coosa. They lead the Cougars in tackles with 58 and 59 respectively.

Riggs said they are good ball players. “They can both go, and are really good tacklers.”

TRM is 32-3 all-time in the first round of the playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
