Lady Eagles win season opener

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles defeated the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders on the road by double digits, 45-23, in their season opening game.

The score remained relatively close going into halftime with WSN leading 19-11. The Lady Eagles would blow the door wide open in the third quarter, outscoring Pensacola Catholic 23-10.

Leading WSN was senior KeKe Floyd with 24 points, four rebounds and three steals; sophomore Marishia Frasier with 10 points and nine rebounds; and junior Taylor Burns with four points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Eagles (1-0) will next compete in the Monroe County Tournament beginning Nov. 23. Time of games to be announced at a later date.
