WSNMS boys win; girls struggle

No. 3, Li’Terrance McCants of WSNMS goes up for the layup against Jay.

The W.S. Neal Middle School girls and boys basketball team faced off against Jay Middle School this past week.

 

WSNMS girls 8, JMS 26

The WSNMS girls were outmatched against Jay. The team was outscored 13-2 in the first half and 13-6 in the second half.

Leading WSNMS in scoring was Alyssa Askew with four points.

Leading scorers for Jay were Makeena Locklin with seven points and Jada Lowry with six points.

 

WSNMS boys 38, JMS 31

For the boys, WSNMS got off to a quick start scoring 11 first quarter points. Jay stayed close throughout the second and third quarters, but the Eagles would close out the fourth quarter outscoring the Royals 8-5 to seal the victory.

Leading WSNMS were Aquarius Taylor and Marcus Paige with seven points.

Leading JMS in scoring was Trace Seib with 12 points.

After Thurs. game the WSNMS girls are 0-5 and the boys are 4-1. Two games remain at McCall on Dec. 3 and at Jay on Dec. 8.
