Miller girls and boys defeat Flomaton

Both the T.R. Miller varsity girls and boys picked up wins against Flomaton Tuesday evening, with the girls winning 42-28 and boys winning 47-32.

Flomaton 28, TRM 42

Miller cruised to the win, their fourteenth win in a row since losing to Flomaton in the Escambia County Tournament on Dec. 10.

Miller jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first quarter. At halftime Miller led 25-16.

Miller outscored Flomaton 17-12 in the second half.

Hannah Fillmore led Flomaton with 10 points.

Leading the Lady Tigers was Mekhia Williams with 26 points, five steals and two assists; and Kyla Bell with 8 points, a game high 18 rebounds, four steals and four blocks.

The team is 16-3 for the season

 

Flomaton 32, TRM 47

Miller outscored Flomaton 33-18 in the first half.

Both teams scored an even 14-14 in the second half.

Leading the Tigers was Markail Mitchell and Hayden Atkinson with eight points each. Atkinson also had seven rebounds.

The Tigers are 8-7 for the season.

 

Miller basketball will be in action Fri., Jan 22, at home against Hillcrest. Games start with the B-team at 4:30 p.m., followed by varsity girls at 6 p.m., then varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.
