Two local men are in custody after a rash of hunting camp burglaries.

David C. Burch, 25, of East Brewton and Tristan J. Capps, 19, of Brewton are facing a host of charges including burglary and theft in conjunction with three separate break-ins.

Reports indicate the first burglary occurred on Nov. 30 at a Travis Road hunting camp where the suspects allegedly stole tools, clothes and assorted household items. At the second break-in, which occurred on Dec. 16 at a Bradley Road camp house, ammunition, miscellaneous hunting items and hunting clothes were taken. The third break-in occurred on Martin Road when the two allegedly broke into a fifth-wheel camper used as a hunting camp, and stole a TV.

Search warrants were executed at both Burch’s and Capps’ homes where Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigators recovered the stolen items and booked the two men into the Escambia County Detention Center.

Burch remains in jail on a $75,000 bond, while Capps is being held on a $35,000 bond.
