‘Patsy Cline’ to arrive in Brewton

This month begins the big finish of the 2015-2106 Brewton Council of the Arts’ season.

Next Thursday, Feb. 11, patrons are invited on a “Closer Walk with Patsy Cline.”

This upbeat musical reveals the emotional depth and vocal range of Patsy Cline, organizers said. Throughout A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, audiences trace the late singer’s footsteps from early honky-tonk and radio days through her rise at the Grand Ole Opry plus her appearances at Carnegie Hall and Las Vegas. “Patsy,” backed by a live band, performs 22 of Cline’s greatest hits including “Walkin’ after Midnight,” “Sweet Dreams,” “I Fall to Pieces,” and “Crazy.”

Then, bluegrass lovers can rejoice as Rhonda Vincent comes to Brewton on March 3.

An American bluegrass singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Vincent is an in-demand guest vocalist for other bluegrass and country music performers, appearing on recordings by Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Tanya Tucker, Joe Diffie and other notables.

As the last performance of the season, the Missoula Children’s Theater production of “Little Red Riding Hood,” will take the stage on Sat., March 19.

All shows will be held at 7 p.m., in the Jefferson Davis Community College auditorium.

“The Brewton Council of the Arts is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing quality theatrical performances and opportunities with the arts to citizens and students of Brewton and its surrounding communities,” said BCA member Clay Lisenby. “We believe our season tickets are the best deal in town for quality family entertainment.”

While individual tickets will be sold at the door, one may also purchase a patron family season package for $100; patron single package for $50; a family package for $50; adult package for $35 or senior package for those over 59 for $20.

To order, visit brewtoncouncilofthearts.com or call Susan Miller at 251.363.0176.

“The presentation of these world class performances would not be possible without the support of our sponsors,” Lisenby said. “The Brewton Council of the Arts is so grateful for all of their support.”
