Neal splits games in Robertsdale

The W.S. Neal boy’s varsity team held on in the fourth quarter against 6A Robertsdale to clinch its 19th win of the season.

The girls’ had an 18-point fourth quarter but still fell short of the win, losing to Robertsdale 36-37.

 

Robertsdale 37, Neal 36 (girls)

A scoreless third quarter hampered the Lady Eagles’ effort of mounting a comeback win. Robertsdale started hot, outscoring Neal 16-7 in the first quarter. By halftime, Robertsdale led Neal 26-19. After putting up zero in the third quarter, Neal scored 18 points, tying their point total in the first half. Robertsdale’s six points in the fourth proved enough to notch its seventh win of the season.

Leading the Lady Eagles was Keke Floyd with 13 points eight rebounds, Kametria Lawson with 10 points.

Neal finishes the regular season 9-12.

 

Robertsdale 46, Neal 49 (boys)

Neal led at halftime 24-22.  In the third, Neal outscored Robertsdale 11-6 to take a 35-28 lead into the fourth quarter. Robertsdale made a late push in the fourth, but came up short despite outscoring Neal 17-14 in the quarter.

Leading Neal was Tyshawn Davis with 18 points and seven rebounds, and Darius Tolbert with eight points and nine rebounds. Troy Lewis and Jacobey Hawthorne had seven points each.

The Eagles finish the season 20-7.
