A Brewton girl with Georgia ties is missing, and the Brewton Police is seeking leads to bring her home.

Brooke Lee Bridges, 16, was last seen at her family’s Alco home just before bed Sunday.

“This is a strange case,” said Sgt. Patrick Caylor. “The circumstances around Brooke’s disappearance are unknown, and we continue to follow all leads we can, but we need the public’s help in bringing her home.”

The home-schooled teen with distinctive blue hair from Montezuma, Ga., came to Brewton so that her father could work on the Georgia Pacific construction project, Caylor said.

As of Tuesday morning, social media was filled with posts urging those with tips on Bridge’s location to contact law enforcement. First responder crews spent the afternoon combing the area around Alco Lake searching for clues. As of the evening, no word was given as to the direction of the case. Residents are asked to avoid the area as to not hamper the search.

“We believe she left home with her cell phone,” Caylor said of the teen. “She doesn’t have a history of this type of behavior. The word is out about her disappearance, so we are asking anyone with any kind of information to contact one’s local law enforcement agency.”

Bridges, at 5’3” and 100 pounds, was last seen around 11 p.m. on Sunday wearing a spaghetti strap tank and black sweatpants.

Those with information are asked to call the BPD at 251.867.3212.
