Neal’s Chavers, Frazier no hit Atmore in 13-0 win

The W.S. Neal Eagles soared to victory over Escambia County on Thursday, winning 13-0.

Neal pitchers’ Lane Chavers and Sam Frazier combined for 14 strikeouts to no-hit the Blue Devils.

A single to left field by Jared Cooper plated Derrick Barton for the first run of the game for Neal. The Eagles scored six more runs through three innings.

In the fourth inning Neal plated four more runs to take an 11-0 lead. Neal scored two more insurance runs in the fifth to put the game away.

Leading Neal at the plate was Dalton Shell going 2-2, with two singles. Chavers, Cooper and Matt Hutchins each had a hit. Cooper and Jacobey Hawthorne led the team with two RBIs each.

Chavers picked up the win on the mound, throwing four innings with eleven strikeouts.
