James Quinton Davis

New Jersey

 

James Quinton Davis passed away on April 7, 2016.

Funeral services were held Sat. April 16, at 2 p.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptish Church in Brewton with the Rev. Ernest Frierson officiating and Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors directing.

Interment followed at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was born on July 26, 1971, in Newark, N.J., to Jacqueline Jackson Davis and James Davis.

He knew our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and regularly attended Calvary Christian Church. He graduated from Calvary Christian School in Newark, and Essex Catholic High School in East Orange, N.J. He later continued his education at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan., where he earned an athletic scholarship for basketball.

“Quint”, as he was affectionately called by family members and close friends, had always expressed a desire to travel throughout these United States and to subsequently travel abroad.

He begun to fulfill that dream by living in many different states, where he worked at various positions in the restaurant industry.

He was truly a “people person”. He was best known for his beautiful, infectious smile and talkative personality. He was genuine and had a pure heart that he used to comfortably and caringly speak with anyone that he encountered. Although he will be deeply missed, his life will be celebrated by all who knew him.

He was a devoted father who dearly loved and spoke so proudly of his children.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Nadia Chantel Davis and Zoey Virginia Davis; son, Tristan Jacque Davis; parents, Jacqueline Jackson Davis and James Davis; brothers, Jerome (Carla) Gaymon and Jamael Lamont Davis; nephews, Samuel Grant, Tahdre Davis, Jamael Davis and Carter Davis; niece, Auriannah Johnson; uncles, Henry James (Ora) Jackson, Larry (Loretta) Jackson, Claude Davis, Johnny (Mary) Davis, Warren Davis and Wilfred B. (Jennifer) Davis; aunts, Rosa M. Jones, Diane (the Rev. Ernest) Fierson, Betty (Kevin) Wicks, Louris G. Davis, Sara P. Brooks, Gloria J. (Hubert) Marshall, Dolores Jackson and Betty Blount Jackson; special aunt, Gloria A. Culliver (Leslie) Thomas; great aunts, Rebecca Peterson, Lillie Mae Moses and L. Gene Davis; great uncle, William Davis; mothers of his children, Lori Turner and Eugenia Leann Davis; as well as a host of loving cousins who were as close as sisters and brothers to him.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Sandford and Eula Mae Jackson; paternal grandparents, James and Bessie Mae Davis; uncles, John E. Jackson, Lavon Jackson and Sanford Jackson, Jr.; and aunts, Mary Louise Jackson Davis and Ouida Jackson Teal.

 

Warren Marshall Ringsdorf  Jr.

Brewton

 

Dr. Warren Marshall Ringsdorf Jr., M.S., D.M.D., passed away at his home in Brewton on April 4, 2016. He was 86.

Dr. Marshall was one of four sons birthed (one passed as an infant) by Dr. Warren Marshall Ringsdorf Sr. and Mary Emma Frazier Ringsdorf of Elba.

He earned his master’s degree of science at the University of Alabama and his doctorate of medicine degree at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Associate Professor Dr. Ringsdorf was a member of the Alabama School of Dentistry for more than 30 years. He was co-author of multiple books in the field of health and nutrition including The Vitamin C Connection and Psycho dietetics.

He was preceded in death by two brothers in the mid 1980s – Ben, honored U.S.A.F. Vietnam veteran and Prisoner of War now interred at Arlington Cemetery, and Frazier, who pursued his career in Izmir, Turkey; and his son, Dr. Warren Marshall Ringsdorf III of Brewton.

At his passing, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his Elba High School sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, Doris Lemerle Carpenter Ringsdorf; his daughter, Valerie Ann (Greg) Ringsdorf Bigger; and grandson, William Marshall Ringsdorf Bigger.

A service will be held for both Marshall and Doris in celebration of their life together after the Lord’s time for Doris is complete.

 

Mel Anthony ‘Tony’ Tagudar

Brewton

 

Mel Anthony “Tony” Tagudar, 49, of James Mill Road in Brewton, passed away Sat. Feb. 13, 2016, in a Mobile hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Preuett officiating.

Interment followed at Calvary Mennonite Church Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was a native of Athens, Ga., and a long time resident of Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith. He attended North Brewton School, and was employed as a deck hand with Cooper Marine. He was an avid fisherman and he loved all of his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Mel Tagudar of the Phillipines; godmother, Elaine Grandison of Brewton; son, Craig (Crystal) Taguadar of Mobile; daughter, Brittany (Lavelle) Tagudar of Mobile; brother, Jeffrey Tagudar of Mobile; three sisters, Melody (Wade) Wilcox of Castleberry, Nina (John) Stokes of Robertsdale and Misty Alvarez of Virginia; three grandchildren, Brielle Dunning, Madison Tagudar and McKenzie Tagudar; and the mother of his children, Tammy Tagudar.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Hanes.
