Roderick Fluker will be honored by the Atlanta Tuskegee Alumni Club (ATAC) as one of its recipients of the Pioneer Award.

The award is presented in support of scholarships for students enrolled at Tuskegee University from the Metropolitan Atlanta area. The Pioneer Award honors “individuals who, through their leadership, have confronted societal or civic issues, addressed health or environmental concerns, or promoted arts and humanities.” Fluker will be recognized and presented with the Pioneer Award by the ATAC during the Pioneer Award Schola-rship Jazz Brunch held on  Sat., May 28, at the Georgia Inter-national Convention Center.

Fluker is currently an Assistant Professorof Architecture at Tuskegee University.  He has been a registered architect for over 12 years, one of approximately 2,000 African American architects throughout the United States in current practice.

Fluker is a native of Evergreen and is the son of Larry W. and Mary S. Fluker.

He and his wife, Tracy, have one son, Hollis Martin Fluker.  The family resides in Atlanta, Ga.
