Manford Lavon Hammac, 76, passed away Fri., June 3, 2016, in the Brewton hospital.

Funeral services were held on Sun., June 5 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Hammac and the Rev. Wayne Ellis officiating.

Interment followed in Beulah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Landon Christian, Robert Burkett, Doug Maddox, Greg Douglas, Dillon Guss and Benny Maddox.

He was a native and life long resident of Brewton.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Ryals Construction for a number of years.  He was a member of Beulah Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lois Hammac of Brewton; son, Michael (Amy) Guss of Michigan; daughter, Sabrina (Christopher) Wimberley of Saraland; brother, Doc Hammac of East Brewton; sister, Peggy Ann Dempsey of East Brewton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Beau Gibson Ansley

Infant Beau Gibson Ansley passed away Thurs., June 2, 2016, in Fayetteville.

Memorial services will be held Mon. night June 6, at 6 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

He is survived by parents, Christopher Kyle Ansley and Haley Gibson Ansley of Fayettville;maternal grandparents, Clyde and Sandra Gibson of Brewton; paternal grandparents, Al and Debbie Ansley of Millbrook; aunts and uncles, Dalton (Toni) Ansley of Auburn, Teddy (Dayln) Ansley of Tampla, Fla., Sarah Ansley of Millbrook, and Chip (Mandy) Gibson; cousin Samantha of Texarkana, Ariz., and lots of great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Irene Grace Miller

Brewton

 

Irene Grace Miller, 90, passed away Sun., June 5, 2016.

A memorial service will be held Sat., June 11, at 11am at Alco Baptist Church in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home handling final arrangements.

Born November 25, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a long time resident of Brewton and Castleberry.

She was well known in town and her church community of Alco Baptist Church. She was an independent woman who served as a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II, owned several businesses, worked in retail, was a wonderful pie baker and cook and knew no gender barriers.

Her favorite job was always that of a mother and placing a baby in her lap would always bring a smile to her face. She lived in her own home right until the final stroke that took her life.

Although she lived 90 years, she was never old. She will be remembered by many as a gentle, loving soul who loved life and her family.

She was the mother of eleven children, grandmother of nineteen and great-grandmother or great-great grandmother to many. She loved them all.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Weaver Faircloth, Barbara Jean Faircloth, Elizabeth Mae Redfield and Andrea Nicole Chavers; four sons, Jimmie O’Neal Faircloth, Ronald Ellis Faircloth, Charles Wayne Miller and Anthony Jason Miller; sister, Beverly; and numerous grandchildren, great grand-children and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Butts and Alma Wenner; daughters Ann Faircloth and Patsy Faircloth Honnaker; son, James Miller; and beloved sisters Ruth Baptiste and Helen Butts.
