Let’s all go on vacation

I just can’t seem to get things under control these days.

There isn’t enough time in the workday or enough seconds on the weekend to accomplish everything that I need to get done. I bet there are a bunch of you out there who can agree with me on that.

My to-do list keeps getting longer and longer with the more I mark off, the more I seem to be adding to it.

Summer is winding down, and I know that once that happens, I’m a hopeless case.

In a month, school will begin, and the rollercoaster will start afresh. Marching season, which in other houses may be known as football season, will kick off here in a few weeks. Before too much longer, the sounds of horns and drums will fill the morning at both T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal.

Good times, right?

Everyone says that we should take time to enjoy these days because before too long, they’ll all be gone. There will be no one to take to practice; no one to cheer on from the stands. I know they’re right.

But, still I think what I need is a vacation – one of those toes in the sand, sun on my face, eat all the things you’re not supposed to eat besides on vacation. It would be just the thing to reset my battery and wipe the slate clean.  I’ve got one on the books at the end of the month, and I can’t wait.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer vacation. I know I’m planning to.
