Alma Mose

Alma Mose died Aug. 23, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Sat., Aug. 27, at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in the Freemanville community with the Rev. Edgar McCarthy officiating.

Internment followed at Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetey in Evergreen, with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.

She was born in Evergreen to Clifton Moore Sr., and Alma Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pearlie Stallworth; a sister, Katie Jacobs; and two brothers, Harvey and Clifton Moore.

She is survived by three daughters, Eula (Tommie) Floyd of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mary Thurman and Joann Floyd, both of Evergreen; three sons, Willie (Bertha) Floyd of Century, Fla., Charlie (the late Barbara) Floyd of Brewton, and Grady (La Faye of Flomaton; two sisters, Evelyn Jackson of Evergreen and Lula McCall of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Eddie Moore of Evergreen and the Rev. Green Moore of Winston-Salem; a host of grands and great-grands, and dear friends, Julia, Lisa, Bernice, Daisy and Bayman of Atmore.

 

Oleta Wilson McIntyre

Montgomery

 

Oleta Wilson McIntyre, 103, passed away on Aug. 27, 2016, in Montgomery.

Funeral services were held Aug. 27, with the Rev. Tony McCullough and the Rev. Tom Searcy officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home of Evergreen directing.

She was born in the Mount Union Community in Conecuh County on Sept. 7, 1912, and lived most of her life in Evergreen. She married E.M. McIntyre on Dec. 23, 1928, and had two children, Bobbie Stokes and Jane Nichols.

She was a retired nurse, having worked for many years for Dr. Reagan Yeargan. After her husband’s death, she moved to Brewton and later to Montgomery. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Stokes and Jane (Ben) Nichols; three grandchildren, Bill (Cathy) Stokes, David (Debbie) Stokes and Anne (Albert) Haas; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one sister, Audrey Jeffcoat.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.M. McIntyre; her parents, Monach and Hattie Wilson; her sister, Corrine Peavy and her son-in-law, Roy Stokes.

Memorials may be made in memory of Oleta McIntyre, to Frazer United Methodist Church, Pastoral Care, 6000 Atlanta, Highway, Montgomery, AL., 36117.

 

Helen Louise Baggett

Brewton

 

Helen Louise Baggett, 87, passed away at her Brewton residence on Sat., Aug. 27, 2016.

She was a life long resident of Escambia County,  and worked as a senior caregiver for a number of years. She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Ray Browder and Minnie Barnett Browder, and her husband, Leonard Boyce Baggett.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Dwight) Gray of Brewton; a sister, Doris (Sam) Johns of Brewton; one granddaughter, Sonya (Rance) Blackman; two great-grandsons, Logan (Whitney) Blackman, and Landon (Savannah Freeman) Blackman; two great-great-grandchildren, Waylon Blackman and Kenley Blackman.

Bryan Joseph Belanger Sr.

Brewton

 

Bryan Joseph Belanger, Sr., 84, of Columbus Circle in Brewton, passed away Wed., Aug. 24, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Sat., Aug., 27, at noon from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dykes and the Rev. Teresa Dykes officiating. He was buried at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.

He was a native of Franklin, La., and moved to Brewton in 1971. He retired from Exxon after 20 years as an instrument technician. He married Marjorie Marsa Leah Wellman in March of 1950 and they were married for 66 years. He was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Belanger of Brewton; daughter, Vickie Belanger (David) West of Berrydale, Fla.; a sister, Jean Belanger (Davis) Woody of Houston, Texas; a brother, John Leslie (Faye) Belanger; two grandsons, G. David West II (Cecilla) of Remlap, Ala., and William Joseph West of Valdosta, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Dawson (Brandii) West, Jessica West and Danay West; two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden West and Max West; and a number of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Belanger and Eve Robichaux Belanger Singleton; one sister, Dardenella Belanger Brock and a son, Bryan Joseph Belanger Jr.
