The pre-sale deadline for tickets to the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity’s “Framing the Future” fundraiser is Oct. 20.

Habitat Executive Director Lisa Tindell said event proceeds “will help us continue to provide safe, affordable housing for low-income families in our community. We also want to encourage participation from others who may not be familiar with our organization and what we do.”

Habitat is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds with people in need regardless of race or religion. To date, Habitat has constructed 23 homes in Escambia County and completed numerous home rehabilitation projects throughout the county.

The family selection committee is close to choosing a new family for the winter build, Tindell said.

“Which is why this fundraiser is so important,” she said. “The money we raise will help provide someone with a new home.”

The Oct. 20 fundraiser will feature a catered dinner, entertainment and silent auction in the Bell Chapel of First Baptist Church Brewton from 6-8 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Many auction items donated by area merchants will be up for bid until 8 p.m. Winners will be notified at the evening’s close or by phone, Tindell said.

This year’s event gold sponsors are MPG Casting and Wind Creek, while silver sponsors are David’s Catfish of Atmore and Baldwin Gulf Coast Pest Control.

Silent auction items will feature selections from NDI, Dogwood Hills Golf Course, Swift Supply, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, Ray’s Cleaners, South Alabama Gas and Habitat Restore.

“And we’re adding more items every day,” Tindell said. “Remember, donations are tax-deductible,” Tindell said.

Tickets to the night’s event are $20 in advance and $25 the week of the event. A 20 percent discount is available to those purchasing five tickets or more.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.

“Perfect time to come in and put in those silent auction items,” Tindell said.

Live entertainment will be provided.
