W.S. Neal Eagles (2-6) vs Escambia County Blue Devils (2-6)

Eagles look to clean up on special teams

 

The WSN Eagles will host Class 4A, Region 1 opponent Escambia County this Friday. Both teams find themselves on the outside looking in concerning the playoffs, but hope to finish out the season on a strong note.

Escambia County is currently on a three game losing streak, with its most recent loss suffered at the hands of Carroll 45-0. The Blue Devils have been shut out four times this season.

Escambia County is averaging 10 points per game, while surrendering 39 points per game to opposing teams.

WSN is coming of two bruising games to then 4A No. 1 ranked UMS-Wright and 4A No. 2 ranked Andalusia. The Eagles are averaging 17 points per game, while surrendering 24 points per game.

Head up Neal has had success against Atmore with an 18-31 record dating back to 1943. Neal has won the match up the past two seasons.

Weather Friday in East Brewton is forecasted at clear skies with a low of 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

 

T.R. Miller Tigers (6-2) at Clarke County Bulldogs (4-4)

Tigers look to close out region strong

 

The Class 3A, No. 8 ranked TRM Tigers will travel to play Class 3A, Region 1 opponent Clarke County this Friday at H.G. Prim Stadium in Grove Hill.

Clarke County is coming off a 36-21 road loss to Mobile Christian. Prior to the loss the Bulldogs were riding a three game winning streak.

Clarke County is surrendering 25 points per game to opposing teams, while scoring 28 points per game. At home Clarke County is 2-1 this season.

TRM is coming off a 28-23 win versus Bayside Academy. The Tigers are scoring an average of 34 points over eight games, while surrendering 22 points per game.

Running back Michael Campbell has rushed for over 100 yards in four straight games with 10 touchdowns.

Head up Miller has dominated Clarke County with a 31-3 record.
