Chamber looking for area’s top contributors; deadline Feb. 15

The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2016 Citizen of the Year.

The winner will be announced at the annual chamber of commerce banquet on March 7.

According to the chamber, the person must live in the Brewton/East Brewton area, and have lived here for at least three years. The recipient’s achievements must have contributed to the enrichment of the Brewton or East Brewton area in one of both of the following areas:

• Business or professional achievements: The recipient must have established a successful business or been the person with the primary responsibility for the business. The chamber is a business-based organization and wants to honor citizens who have created jobs in the area.

• Community/civic affairs: The recipient must be active for a period of several years in community or civic work. This person may have worked in one or more of several areas such as health and welfare, education, religion, cultural or other social causes.

All nominations must be turned into the chamber office by Wed., Feb. 15. Address envelopes to Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, Citizen(s) of the Year 2014, 1010-B Douglas Ave., Brewton, AL 36426.
