The Poarch Creek Education College and Career Fair will be held on Jan. 24 and is open to the public. There will be representatives from the local community colleges, vocational schools, four-year colleges and universities. Local businesses are also invited to join and meet potential candidates.

High school students, college students, and adults who are interested in furthering their education or training for a new career or to talk with the recruiters and businesses and learn about new training job opportunities in our area of the state are encouraged to attend.

The event will be held in building No. 500, which is located behind building No. 300. To arrive, turn left onto Calvin McGhee Drive from Jack Springs Road in Atmore; turn right, and drive between buildings No. 300 and No. 400. The auditorium is located at the far end of building No. 500.

There will be drawings for door prizes.

It is time for parents and students to apply or renew FAFSA (Pell Grant) applications for college attendance during the 2017-2018 academic year. By applying at this time of the year, you will be eligible for additional government grants, state grants and college funds.
