BES announces art contest winners

Brewton Elementary School recently held a school art contest, and winners were selected from various categories. Their artwork will be sent to the Escambia County Youth Art Show for display and judging.  The following students will have work displayed:

• Kindergarten winners Hayden Nelson, Presley Payne, Alise Luttrell, Kenslee James and Kaleigh Edwards honorable mentions winners Layna Updike, Taylar Russell, Hadley Beasley, Turner Madden and Caroline Fain.

• First and second grade winners Leah Bradley, Colt Thomas, Lindsey Jennings, Liles Garrett and

Selah Trippe honorable mentions winners Ella Langham, Alex Beasley, Emma Madison, Emma Cornutt and Addison Yoder.

• Third and fourth grade winners Brantley Woodson, Layla Folsom, Bo Thomas and Alivialee Bush Kyla Trippe and honorable mentions winners Kaleigh Lindsey, Julianne Surles, Chloe Carter, Jaycee Farrer and Allison Reeves.

Two-dimensional work can be viewed at the Brewton Area YMCA and three dimensional work and photography will be exhibited at the Brewton Public Library. The art display, sponsored by the Brewton Council of the Arts, is open for the public during the month of March. One is encouraged to take time to visit this priceless collection created by young artists in our area. Countywide winners will be recognized and honored at a reception on Sat., March 18, at the YMCA.
