Hawthorne shines in Neal win over Atmore

Jacobey Hawthorne pitches versus Escambia County Thursday.

The W.S. Neal Eagles had 11 hits as a team. Three of those hits came off the bat of Jacobey Hawthorne, who had 5 RBIs on the evening. The extent of Hawthorne’s impact on the game didn’t stop on offense, as the junior pitched a complete game on the mound, striking out six batters while walking three.

Hunter Revel and Jennings Hobbs also had multi-hit games. Hobbs had 2 RBIs and scored two runs. Revel had an RBI. Aaron Bosarge, Weston Riddle, Matt Hutchins and Sawyer Lewis each had a hit.

With the win the Eagles improve to 6-3 for the season, and 3-0 in the area.

WSN will play Escambia County today at home. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
