Quality Inn to be rebranded, updated

Work is beginning today on a $200,000 rebranding and renovation project at Brewton’s Quality Inn.

Owner Sarju Patel said the project will bring “a completely new look” and a new name to the facility.

“We have signed a contract with the MStar Company,” Patel said. “The company has a number of hotels in larger markets and are now beginning to expand into the smaller markets, like Brewton.

“When the work is done, it’s going to look like a brand new hotel,” she said.

Plans are to renovate the lobby with new flooring and fixtures, while rooms will feature new flooring and upgrades for bathroom fixtures, furniture, bedding and décor.

“We’re also going to be putting up new signs out front,” Patel said. “We’re also getting a new air conditioning system, too.”

The first phase of the project is beginning today, and workers are in the process of removing old bedding, fixtures and furniture. It should be completed within 60 days, Patel said.

“We shouldn’t have to close the facility at any point,” she said. “With the way reservations are scheduled, we couldn’t close.”

An estimated $100,000 in work is also underway at the Atmore location, where crews this week are working to install a new room door lock system.

“We did that same project here in Brewton about six months ago,” Patel said.
