On your mark, get set, go! State Farm, Wendy Folmar Insurance Agent and Backpack Buddies are teaming up to host the Feed Our Kids 5K run on Sat., Aug. 12. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with a 7:30 a.m. start time.

The Feed Our Kids 5K takes place on the historic streets of Brewton and will start and finish at State Farm, Wendy Folmar Agent.

The event will benefit the Backpack Buddies which positively impacts the lives of children throughout the Brewton area and Escambia County.

Backpack Buddies is currently active at both Brewton and W.S. Neal Elementary and Middle Schools and is dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families.

The program provides a weekly, free bag of kid-friendly, shelf-stable foods for each child to eat over the weekend and on school breaks throughout the school year. Each Friday, a bag of food is discreetly placed in each child’s backpack for the student to bring home while provide anonymity.

If you would like to guarantee a t-shirt, call 251-867-4518 with your shirt size. Participants will not be guaranteed a t-shirt on the day of registration.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available that range from $100 to more than $500.

The Job level sponsorship ($100) includes an organization name printed on the race t-shirt and recognition on Facebook.

The Run level sponsorship ($200) includes a logo on t-shirts, a banner (provided by company) to be displayed at the race, and recognition on Facebook.

The Sprint level sponsorship ($500 or more) includes all perks, including the opportunity to set up a stand to showcase products and services.
