“Dr. Van has been a wonderful physician for the Flomaton Community,” said Michael Myrick, Clinic Manager for the Flomaton Medical Center. “We are very appreciative of Dr. Van’s many years of service to the community and at the same time excited for him and wish him nothing but the best in retirement.”

Vanlandingham received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1970 and completed his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Michigan.

During his career, he has served on the medical staff for Abernathy Hospital, in Flomaton and D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, in Brewton. He has also served in many community appointments on various boards and committees. In 2005, D. W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and Dr. Vanlandingham partnered to establish a Rural Health Clinic at the Flomaton Medical Center.

“We are very fortunate to have a wonderful physician like Dr. John Vanlandingham in our community for so many years,” Chris Griffin, administrator at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital said.

The Flomaton community is planning a retirement celebration for Vanlandingham to honor and thank him for his service to the community.
