Time seems to be zipping by

It seems like there is not enough time in a day. Each day seems to move a little quicker than the last. It really just seemed like school let out for the summer, or that I was just standing on a football sideline in September.

In the not so distance future both will be back in session. Students and teachers will try to shake off the cobwebs of summer break, the weather will get a little cooler as Fall approaches, college football will bring some balance to the sports world, and so on and so on.

If we don’t be careful time will just slip right on by us. I fall into the trap of getting caught up in the day-to-day. I’m sure I’m not alone.

It’s funny when your younger you feel you have all the time in the world. Granted I’m 26 years old, but I remember what it felt to be 11 years old filled with so much optimism.

At the age of 20, I had my ultimate goal set. Six years later, I feel I have grown, but really it seems where has time gone?

I realized time was moving fast when I was taking pictures at the T.R. Miller Homecoming Parade this past year.

When you start seeing people you went to high school with celebrate their 10 year reunion, it’s a reality check. I’m what you call in the hole, to use a baseball reference.

I haven’t reached a point where I’m satisfied with my life. I still feel there’s so much to do, and so much to see.

Time has forced me to grow a little faster than expected, so I joke with friends that I’m an old, young man. It is what it is.

When I was young I set some bench marks for myself. I said I’d be in my career by the time I was 28 and I’d be married at 30 years old, just to name a few.

Of course that was my way to have some kind of control over my existence, but the reality is only time can tell. As cliche as it sounds, I believe the saying is true. But I got to get a move on. Each day is a blessing and we should all make every one of them count.
