The deadline for agencies seeking funding assistance from United Fund is rapidly approaching.

Kirk Garrett, Brewton’s UF vice president, said applications were recently sent to previously funded organizations.

“We anticipate our drive will begin in early October,” Garrett said. “We have not set our fundraising goal at this time, but it has been $80,000 the past few years. Over 98 percent of all money raised goes directly to the agencies.”

In the past, some 19 organizations in the Brewton and East Brewton community have benefitted from donations. More than 98-cents of every dollar is passed along to the organizations.
Those requesting funding should send a request letter to the UF board via mail to: United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton, P.O. Box 34, Brewton, AL 36427.

Any organization that would like to apply for funding for this year should contact Garrett by calling 251.867.6063 or any other board member to obtain an application.

Other board members are: Taylor Jackson, president; Allen Cave, Wanda Ellis, Sandy English, Stacy Hines, Mark Manning, the Rev. Tony McCullough, Marilyn Raines, Tony Sanks and Heather Walton.
