County school board approves personnel

The Escambia County Board of Education held its annual monthly meeting on Thurs., Aug. 17, 2017. The board approved the following personnel recommendations:

Resignations:

• Katherine Gohagin, bus driver, Atmore Bust Shop, effective Aug. 3;

• Brandy Baggett, teach, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 3;

• Robin Stewart, six-hour lunchroom worker, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 9;

• Daphne Joyner, science teacher, Escambia County Alternative School, effective Aug. 8;

• Cody Pridgen, mechanic, Brewton Bus Shop, effective Aug. 31; and,

• Alice Mosley, seven-hour lunchroom worker, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 24.

Transfers:

• Stephanie Alaniz, lead nurse, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, to lead nurse, Escambia County High School, effective Aug. 4, and,

• Matthew Mize, Agriscience teacher, Flomaton High School, to Horticulture/Agriscience Instructor, Escambia Career Readiness Center, start date pending hiring of replacement teacher at Flomaton High School. (Replacing Allen Whitman)

Employment:

• April Dunsford, office aide, Flomaton Elementary School, to work up to an additional seven days, effective July 24 through Aug. 3;

• Tracey Chavers, elementary teacher, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 21.  (Replacing Brandy Baggett);

• Jawuan Osborne, counselor, Escambia County Middle School, to work up to an additional five days, effective July 17-31;

• Cordia Lee, counselor, Escambia County Middle School, to work up to an additional five days, effective July 17-31;

• Ricky Lester, special education instructional aide, Flomaton Elementary Schoo, effective Aug. 21;

• Lisa Biggs, bus driver, Atmore Bus Stop, effective Aug. 9 (Replacing Katherine Gohagin); and,

• Veronica Hacker, six-hour lunchroom worker, Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 21. (Replacing Robin Stewart)
