Both the T.R. Miller varsity (3-1) and JV (3-0) volleyball teams picked up wins versus Excel on Tuesday.

The varsity team won in straight sets (25-21. 2519, 25-19)

Steely Ruzic had 13 kills and eight digs. Myra Reiss had seven kills and 19 assist. Mary Madison Brown had six kills. Addi Smith had 14 digs. Kaleigh Folsom had 14 assists. Anna Grace White served nine serves in a row in Game No. 1.

TRM head volleyball coach Terri Lynne Thompson said it was an exciting match against an aggressive Excel team.

“Excel did a good keeping us on our toes throughout all three games,” Thompson said. “We found ourselves playing from behind several times. What I love about this team is they truly play for each other at TRM. They are a selfless group of girls who fight for each other on every single ball.”

Earlier in the evening the JV team won in straight sets 25-16 and 25-20.

TRM will travel to Straughn tomorrow, Sept., 14. The middle school will play at 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5 p.m., and varsity at 6 p.m.
