Linda Diane Harrelson Heller

Atmore

Linda Diane Harrelson Heller, 61 of Atmore, passed away on Tues., Oct. 10, 2017, at her home.

Funeral services were held on Fri., Oct. 13, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Bro. Mack Harrelson officiating.

Interment followed in Flomaton Cemetery.

She was born in Canoe and was a former resident of Flomaton. 

She had worked as a certified nursing assistant with Oxford Home Health.  Heller was of the Holiness faith and attended New Life Church and was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Faye Bartlett Harrelson.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Samantha) Hightower of Flomaton, Justin Hightower of Berrydale, Fla., and Jeffery (Jessica) Hightower of Perdido Key, Fla.; daughters, Tonya (Kevin) Crawford of Atmore and Jennifer Hightower of Flomaton; sisters, Glenda Phillips of Flomaton and Bettie Capers of Century, Fla.; grandchildren, Raven Hightower, Shaun Tingstrom, Ethan Jordan, Blake Hightower, Braden Berry, Petyton Hightower and Georgia Crawford.

Pallbearers were Mack Harrelson, Jeffrey Hightower, Justin Hightower, Kelvin Crawford, Mikey Harrelson, Rickey Harrelson and Danny Hendrick.

Flowers are being accepted, but it was Diane’s wishes that any money for flowers be used to help someone with cancer.

John Watts

Brewton

John Watts (born John Watson) was born to the late Eugene and Ethel Richardson-Watson on Dec. 11, 1940, in Vredenburgh, Ala.

Watts

He was proceeded in death by his son, Kelly Jon Watts; father, Eugene; mother, Ethel; stepmother, Minnie Lee; sisters, Sara Buggs, Earna Jackson and Ethel Bell; and brother, Johnny Mack.

He was reared in a Lutheran Church but later joined Douglass Tabernacle in Huntsville, after being transferred there with the Chrysler Corporation.

In 2005, he joined Deliverance Outreach Worship Center (Huntsville, Ala.) under the leadership of Apostle Aaron Jones.

Upon moving to Brewton in 2013, he joined Pathway To Life under the leadership of Pastor Martha Bonam. He was ordained a deacon in November 2014, where he remained devoted and dedicated until his health failed.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Susan Straughter, to that union one son was born, Kelly Jon Watts. He later wed Olivia Smith-Watts and then Geneva Matthews-Watts.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter-in-law, Monica Watts; three sons, Travis (Kimberly), Terrance (Terri) and Tremon; a devoted significant other, Geneva Roberson-Watts; seven adorable grandchildren, Allie, Daimon, Deanna, Haley, Janaisa, Kaleb and Kayden Watts; 18 grandchildren, Travis Jr., Terrance Jr., Tremon Jr., Tiffany, Shadow, LaTisa, Deraunte, LafFerrell, Travonte, Deondre, Precious, Brent, Taylor, Cherry, Amirah, Secret, Searra and Chance; four s-great grands, Ariyan (whom he affectionately called “Baby Girl”), Travis III, LafFerrell Jr. and Camden; three sisters, Sue Jones, Carolyn Watts-Black both Of Detroit, MI and Shirley Roach of Brewton, AL; six brothers, Lonnie Eugene (Aurelia) of Augusta, Ga., Joe Nathan (Regina) Watson, George (Shirley) Watson, Thomas (Dollie) Watson, all of Brewton, and Cleveland (Melissa) Watson of Pensacola, Fla., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He also leaves cherished memories to his best friend and brother-in-law, Minister Moses (Regina) Jones.

Carol Woosley Barrow

Brewton

Carol Woosley Barrow, a temporary resident of Columbia, Mo., died Oct. 4, 2017, at the age of 56.

She set up temporary residence to be close to her doctor, Umasankar Ramadoss with Missouri Cancer Associates in Columbia.

Woosley was born March 20, She was born in Lewisville, Ark.

Barrow

She, her father, mother and brother moved to Brewton, where she spent the remainder of her childhood and always called Brewton home. 

She was preceeded in death by her father, Martin C. Woosley, Jr., and her mother, Betty G. Woosley. Woosley is survived by her husband William Barrow of Harrison, Tenn., her daughter Christable Rae Barrow of Columbia, Mo., her stepdaughter, April Barrow Brooks of Goode, Va., stepson, Shane Barrow (Trisha) of Brewton, and five step-grandchildren. 

She is also survived by her brother, Martin Woosley (Leanne) of Birmingham; cousin, Sue White (Doug) of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law, Dr. Robert V Barrow (Margaret) of Mobile; Johnny Barrow (Mary Jane) of Crestview, Fla.; sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Despaux of Crestview, Fla., and Bobbie Jean Tunstal (Bob) of Zachary, La..

She is also survived by many nephews and nieces scattered over Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Texas, and Kuwait who were all loved by her. 

She was a graduate of T.R. Miller High School in Brewton and a 1983 graduate of Auburn University.

She was a homemaker and made extended travels with her husband, Bill. Her biggest enjoyment was the transporting of dogs for rescue. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

She requested that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to a dog shelter of your choice. The family suggests a contribution in Woosley’s hometown of Brewton pawscrossedrescue@yahoo.com.       

Jackie Amon Frazier

Brewton

Jackie Amon Frazier, 77, of Hwy. 29 in Brewton passed away Wed., Oct. 18, 2017, in a Pensacola, Fla. medical facility after a brief illness.

He was a native of Conecuh County and a long time resident of Escambia County.

As a young adult, he joined the Army, making a career of it. Upon retirement, he served as a police officer in several locations in south Alabama.

He had a love for life and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Brooklyn Baptist Church. He provided for and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hobbs Frazier of Dixie Community, Brewton; sons, Ronald (Shirley) Frazier of Dixie Community, Brewton, Michael (Sylvia) Frazier of Lockhart, Andrew Frazier of Gantt.; daughters, Kathy (Keith) Howard of Damascus, Paula (James) Baker of Dixie Community, Brewton; brother, Charles (Marsha) Frazier of Brooklyn.; sisters, Melba (Charles) Hart of Castleberry and Mary Frances (James) Johnson of Brewton; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathryn Sales Frazier and grandon, Larry Joseph (Joey) Frazier.

Funeral services were held on Sat., Oct. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Williamson. Interment followed in Brooklyn Baptist Church Cemetery  with full military honors and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Virginia Elaine Hudson Lambeth

Virginia Elaine Hudson Lambeth, 76, of Hwy. 31, Flomaton, passed away Fri., Oct. 20, 2017, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was a native of Pollard and a life long resident of Flomaton.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, a 1959 graduate of Flomaton High School, a former employee of South Central Bell/AT&T, and owner of Elaines Furniture/Antiques.

Survivors include her son, Darrell (Elaine) Lambeth of Deltona, Fla.; daughter, Sonya Beg (Mirza) of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Allen Hudson of Dallas, Texas, and Gerald Hudson of Brewton; sisters, Anne Laura Hamilton of Huntsville and Patricia Walsh of Pace, Fla.; six grandchildren, Amber Beg, Adam Beg, Cameron Beg, Taylor Lambeth, Tyler Lambeth, and Tiffany Lambeth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lambeth, and sister, Barbara Comalander.

Funeral services were scheduled for Sun. Oct. 22, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Johnson. Interment followed in Pollard Cemetery Pollard, Ala. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton, Ala. directing.

Kathy Ann Stanford Bush

Kathy Ann Stanford Bush, 63, of Brewton passed away on Wed., Oct. 18, 2017, at Fairhope Health & Rehabilitation in Fairhope.

Bush was born in Pensacola, Fla., and was a former resident of Brewton before going to Fairhope. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy (Holly Richburg) Bush of Bay Minette and Timothy Bush of Brewton; daughter, Rhonda (Brandon) Grantham of Brewton; brothers, Mike Stanford of Loxley and Eric Stanford of Loxley; sister, Jessica Wright of Loxley; grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Dakota, Trey, Catie, Dylon, and Lexi.

Funeral services were held on Sat., Oct. 21, 2017, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Bro. Michael Cosey officiating.

Interment followed in Flomaton Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Colby Wright, Roger Jackson, B.J. Reid, Cliff Emmons, Jimmy Wood, Daniel Moragan.

Melissa Holley

Evergreen

Melissa Holley, 27, of Evergreen passed away Sun., Oct. 22, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 26, 2017, at Hamden Ridge United Methodist Church. Rev. John Baxter officiated.

Survivors include father, William Glenn Holley; mother, Elizabeth Maria Holley; brother, William Brandon (Candace) Holley; grandfather, Bobby Daw; niece, Abbie Grace Holley; and nephew, William Jesse Holley.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kitty Daw; grandparents, Glenn and Vernon Holley; and aunt, Barbara Gray.

Mattie May Benjamin-Mobley

After a brief illness, Mattie May Benjamin-Mobley gracefully exited this life for her eternal life on Tues., Oct. 16, 2017.

In her earlier years, she attended school at Boykin and was a graduate of the class of 1968 at Southern Normal. She attended United Sandy Grove Baptist, and it was there she was baptized. Only God is capable of counting the lives she touched, the happiness she created and how much love she gave.

Mobley

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simmie and Romain Bradley, and her brother, Elmore Benjamin.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Eric Mobley; four grandchildren, Eric Artazia Mobley, Jr., Aisari Grace, Zyan Gabriellromain and Zakai Gerard Mobley; three step-children, Tangila and Taylor Mobley and Antonio Davis; sisters, Goldia Alexander, Inez Benjamin, Hazels Williams, Johnnie Walton, Tina (Larry) Fraser, and Cynthia Benjamin; brothers, Lem Benjamin, Simmie (Rosie) Benjamin, and Randall (Cathy) Benjamin; aunts, Janie Avant, Mattie Maddox, and Addie Benjamin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two special people, Joseph (Bob) Mobley and Marie (Dede) Thomas.

Danny Brock Joyner

Danny Brock Joyner, 62, of Joyner Lane Brewton passed away Fri., Oct. 20, 2017, at his residence after a brief illness.

He was a native of Granite City, Ill., and a life long resident of Brewton. Joyner was a faithful member, Sunday School class teacher, and usher of the Brewton First United Methodist Church, a 1973 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, and an avid Alabama fan.

He was a former employee of the Brewton Police Department, Escambia County Sherriff’s Department, Founder of Alabama Patriots Tea Party, and owner/tech of Safety and Security Consul

tants.

Survivors include mother, Ellen (Clyde) Godwin of East Brewton; wife, Louise Massingill Joyner of Brewton; son, Darren (Daphne) Joyner of Lenox, Ala.; brother, Randy (Rhonda) Joyner of Brewton; sister, Linda (Steve) Knox of Andalusia, Ala.; son, Jeremiah Brock Joyner; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by her father, Leon Lewis Joyner; son, Brock Joyner; brother, John David Joyner; and sister Paula Joyner.

Visitation will be held Wed., Oct. 25, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Brewton First United Church Brewton.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wed., Oct. 25, 2017, at 2:30 p.m at the Brewton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony McCullough and Rev. John Finklea officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
