The Andalusia Bulldogs used a strong second half to knock off W.S. Neal 52-28 on Friday night.

Head coach Andro Williams was happy with the effort and execution his guys played with against Andalusia.

“We had a good plan and did a good job,” Williams said. “It’s important to finish against a championship caliber team. We fought to the end, but we have to keep working.”

W.S. Neal got the ball to start the game and quickly marched down the field.

Marvin Maddox broke loose for a 31-yard touchdown run to put the Blue Eagles up 7-0 with 6:52 left in the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs responded with a strong drive, but the Blue Eagles forced and recovered an Andalusia fumble.

After forcing W.S. Neal to punt, the Bulldog offense went to work, and came away with three points on the following drive.

Reese Burkhardt drilled a 36-yard field goal to trim the W.S. Neal lead down to 7-3 with 13 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Bulldog defense forced another punt and then the Bulldog offense found the end zone to give Andalusia its first lead of the game.
