New tennis courts are coming to T.R. Miller High School.

Monday, the Brewton City School Board approved a $437,408 bid to construct the new playing fields with Arrington Curb & Excavation Inc. of Flomaton.

The project calls for a complete resurfacing of the current courts, new fencing and lighting.

An “outside funding commitment” will cover $241,438 of the project, with the remainder of the funding coming from the system’s capital projects fund.

In other business, the board:

• awarded a $102,223 bid to Transportation South for a dual-purpose, special needs bus; and,

• approved continuous improvement plans for the system’s three schools.
