BEYOND THE RIVALRY: TRM student council to honor WSN student with blood disease

The Student Council at T. R. Miller High School will be participating in a “Bring the Change” drive, sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, February 26th through March 16th. It is the hope of the student council that participation will include students, faculty, businesses, and community members. During the planning phase of the drive the council members learned that a child at W. S. Neal Elementary school, Crispin Few, had been diagnosed with a blood disease. Understanding that while “school rivalries” are important and fun, the council agreed that being “human allies” to support the lives of one another is paramount.

TR. Miller students will hold a competition between each grade level to see which class can raise the most money. The winning class will get to “pie the teachers” in between the Junior Varsity and Varsity home baseball game against W. S. Neal on Monday, March 19th. The Junior Varsity game will begin at 4:00, and the “Bring the Change” event will be held immediately after. During the event, Crispin will be honored for his courageous battle as T. R. Miller’s special guest.

The Student Council asks that you consider giving to this worthy cause.  Contributions can be made in the office at T. R. Miller High School. If you have any questions, please call Tammy Jones at 867-8435.
