Have old electronics you need to throw away?

The Escambia County Commission is holding an electronics recycling drive this month.

The event will be Thursday, April 26 through Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The e-recycling event will be held in three locations:

• Atmore Farmer’s Market across from Atmore City Hall;

• Flomaton Fire Department, 22475 Highway 31;

• Brewton – Douglas Square Shopping Center between Subway and Farmer’s Home Furniture.

Locals may drop off items such as desktop and laptop computers, hard drives, routers, mainframes, telephones, switching equipment, monitors, TVs, tablets, computer terminals, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, fax machines, drives, cable boxes, office phones, cameras, countertop kitchen appliances, power tools and more.

The e-recycling will coincide with the Alabama Spring Cleanup.

“There will be disposal bags available,” Commission Chairman Raymond Wiggins said.

Bags are available by calling Tony Sales at the commission or Bill Bridge, county engineer or by calling your commissioner.

Commissioners telephone numbers are:

Raymond Wiggins, District Two – 251-238-1606

Larry White, District Three – 251-538-0472

Brandon Smith, District Four – 251-359-4493

David Quarker, District Five – 251-238-0022

Those who pick-up trash may leave their bags along the roadside and the county will supply inmates to pick-up the bags.
