Who will be named rookie of the year in the NBA, there are a lot of young talent in the league who are playing great and some who are not, but the question is “who will win the rookie of the year award.”

Let me give you a run down on the top four rookies that you should have your eyes on. Starting with Donovan Mitchell who plays for the Utah Jazz where he averages 20.5 per game and he is on his way to become the only seventh rookie to average 20 plus points as a rookie since 2000. Mitchell has a habit of taking over games late in the fourth quarter. Mitchell also average 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

Next, is Ben Simmons for the Philadelphia 76ers who be believes he should win the rookie of year award. I must agree with him however, since he has 12 triple doubles so far which places him second in league history, behind Hall of Famer Oscar Roberson. Simmons is playing his heart out every game averaging 16 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game. Where he also has led his team to a third spot in the Eastern Conference, and enjoying a league high 14-game winning streak. Simmons was a No.1 pick in the 2016 draft.

Jayson Taytum for the Boston Celtics is third in the list averaging 13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He was picked third in the NBA draft in the first round in 2017. Tatum is playing better than what he did at Duke shooting 49 percent from the field and 47.8 from the three-point line. Tatum is a spot-up three-point threat off the pick-and-roll. He gives Boston lineup flexibility on defense. He is a 6-foot-8 205 with a 6-foot-11 wingspan and has the speed to switch screens and defend multiple positions.

Lastly, is Kyle Kuzma for the Los Angeles Lakers who is the second highest scorer on the team averaging 16.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He was a round one 27 pick in the 2017 draft. Kuzma has been drawing attention as he ranks third in points per game and has made his mark with his outside shooting. He was also named western conference rookie of the month this season. Kuzma continues to average more minutes per game than any other rookie in the NBA, which began March 3, playing a total of 80 minutes in two games.
