Jaycee Farrer was chosen to represent Brewton Elementary School in “Nine Who Shine.”

Her teacher, Ginger Roberts, said she was an excellent choice.

“Jaycee is an excellent student and citizen of our community,” Roberts said. “She has a kind heart, strong leadership abilities and excellent grades. She is extremely active in the local theater opportunities, and recently had a leading role in The Best Christmas Pageant Eve Ever. Jaycee has befriended several new students to our class, and encourages her friends in their interests and academic goals.”

She is involved in softball with the YMCA, the children’s programs at New Vision Church and First United Methodist Church, and recently acted in Gulliver’s Travels and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Her other interests include watching TV, playing video games, reading and gardening.

She said her favorite subject in school is science, because she likes to observe animals and nature. She has earned awards in academic areas and with softball.

Farrer wants to be NICU nurse when she grows up and in the meantime she loves playing softball and gardening with her mother. Her hero is her nana, Lisa Cox.

“She taught me how to conquer my fears.”

She is the daughter of Jonah Farrer and Jenna Moody.
