Brewton Medical Center has signed up more than 1,200 patients for its patient portal and hopes to sign up more.

Most of the patients signed up are more than 70 years of age.

Any Brewton Medical Center patient may ask to put their email into the system to open their portal.

They must answer three questions or identifying factors including name, birthday and zip code.

The portal is available by logging on to brewtonmedicalcenter.com and going to my account at the bottom of the page.

Parents have the ability to link their children’s patient records together.

It also includes important information such as vitals, medical history, lab results, X-rays, care plans and forms.

The portal also allows for messaging like an email and sends labs to you in PDF form.

Patients may also schedule appointments through the portal.

Office staff check the patient portal every 30 minutes.

Patients also have the ability to download their chat at home and email charts to specialists.
