GP’s Brewton mill, in conjunction with city and county emergency responders, will be hosting an emergency response and preparedness drill Thursday, June 21, at 9 a.m.

The drill fulfills OSHA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) emergency preparedness requirements for the mill.

City and county police, fire and EMTs will participate in the drill and will be onsite.

Patrick Henry, GP’s emergency response coordinator, said that residents may see and hear emergency response vehicles on their way to or at the mill that morning, but that there is no real public threat or emergency issue.
