The Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation is hosting the third annual Cultural Arts Presents that features a Southerner of note each year in the arts, literature, entertaining, dining, or design. The featured guest for this year’s event is Brewton, Alabama native Richard Keith Langham, esteemed decorator, and taste-maker.
The event will include a book signing, dinner, and a lecture from Langham on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts (501 Broad Street, Gadsden). The event is presented by Life Insurance Company of Alabama and begins with a reception and book signing from 6 pm to 7 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm, and Langham’s lecture at 8 pm.
Tickets are $50 per person and are available at the Hardin Center and online at culturalarts.org. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Guests may bring their own Langham book for him to sign and copies will be available for purchase.
Langham has had a hugely-successful career in interior design since he opened his New York office in the early 1990s. He is known for beautiful interiors that are replete with tradition, saturated color, elegance, and Southern flair. He has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Vogue, Veranda, and House Beautiful, among many other publications. He has been named to Architectural Digest’s prestigious AD100, a listing of the world’s best architects and designers who shape the way we live. Langham has decorated for glamorous clientele, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Pat Buckley, and Hilary Swank. His discussion of his captivating, lush interiors will inspire design aficionados and fellow interior designers.
The proceeds from the evening go to support the programs and projects of the Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation, Inc., a non-profit arts organization.
