Kerry Kast is an ICU nurse at D.W. McMillan Hospital and is very well pleased where he is.
“I became a nurse because I thought it would be a fun career with chances to advance as well as see new and unexpected things,” Kast said.
He has an associate’s degree in nursing from Jefferson Davis/Coastal Alabama Community College in Brewton. He also has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Western Governor’s University, an online college based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“I chose to stay in Brewton, rather than go somewhere else to work,” he said. “It’s close to home and is a very likable community in which to live and work. I like the people I work with and that makes work enjoyable.”
Kast said that he believes that a small community is great for raising kids and Brewton is constantly trying to improve.
“That is a great attraction to me,” Kast said. “if you live in a small town community with closeness to the beach, then Brewton is perfect.”
