The Blue Eagles are getting set to kickoff their basketball season on Nov. 27 with an away game against Georgiana High School.
The girls’ basketball team has been hard at work preparing for their first game by working on fundamentals and offensive and defensive drills.
With Damien Jackson taking the reigns as the head coach this season, the girls are looking for a run at the state championship.
“We have been working on conditioning first and foremost. Conditioning is a huge factor for any team and that it’s the main aspect that we are stressing on. We have also been working on offense and defense tactics and ball handling,” said Jackson.
The boys’ basketball team of WSN have also been hard at work preparing for the first regular season game against Georgiana on Nov. 27.
The guys have stressing fundamentals and conditioning as well.
They have also been developing structure on offense and defense in preparation of pre-season and season play.
“We have been installing a new system of offense and we have some players that are still bumped up from football. We hope to have those players back at 100 percent. We have four seniors this season and we are preparing for the pressure that we will face on offense and defense, “said head coach Dewan Salter.
Both Eagles teams will face Georgiana High School on Nov. 27 in Georgiana.
JV boys play at 4:30 p.m., girls tip-off at 6 p.m. and the varsity boys play at 7:30 p.m.
