Reuben William “Frog” Parrish was born on May 30, 1955 to the late Willie and Mattie Parrish.

On Dec. 3, 2018 he transitioned from his earthly home into his eternal home.

He joined Mt. Zion AME Zion Church in Evergreen, Ala. at an early age. In the later years, he moved his membership to First Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Mixonville, Ala. Reuben was educated in the Conecuh County School System. He joined the United States Army in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willie Parrish; his mother, Mrs. Mattie Mitchell Parrish; a sister, Ms. Willa Dean Wallace.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Kquin (Lillian) Parrish of Evergreen; Reverend Orlando Gandy of Brewton; one daughter, Alyrica Parrish of Evergreen; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; six brothers, Willie Parrish Jr. of Livingston, Ala., Carlton Parrish of Rhode Island, NY., Fred Parrish of Ocala, Fla., Jerry (Tina) Parrish of Evergreen, Willie A. (Barbara) Parrish of Nashville, Tenn., and Arnold Parrish of Evergreen; two sisters, Arlene (Michael) Montes of Brewton, and Sylvia (Darral) Ballard of Ocala, Fla.; and three aunts, Sarah Bell Mixon, Eulean Mitchell, both of McKenzie, Ala. and Beulah Mitchell of Flomaton. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and two other special friends, Amber Towler and Kenny Richardson.

Services were held on Monday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McKenzie, Ala.

Interment followed at First Mt. Zion Cemetery with military honors. Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors Inc. directed the services.
