Mr. Norman Russell Findley, 80, of Harold Street in East Brewton, Ala. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton and a life-long resident of East Brewton. Mr. Findley was a member, deacon and sunday school teacher at the East Brewton First Baptist Church, a 1956 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, and a retired maintenance mechanic from Monsanto with more than 35 years of service. He was a former little league baseball, pee wee football coach, and boy scout master and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in the Sepulga River Camp.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Verdie Findley of East Brewton; two sons, Robby (Christina) Findley of Lincoln, Ala., Lamar (Becky) Adkisson of East Brewton; two daughters, Michael Findley of Brewton, Linda Alcocer of Mobile; one brother, George Findley of Georgiana; one sister, Janet Cunningham of Brewton; four granchildren, Cache Findley, Selah Grace Findley, Wesley Carden, Kristin Freeman; three great-grandchildren, Landon Carden, Dawson Carden, Kerigan Freeman.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Findley; daughter, Troy Lynne Findley; brother, Phillip Findley.
Visitation was held Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday morning, Dec. 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Watts officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
