Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

BY MICHAEL FLOYD

The Tigers of TRM were down by 29 points at the half against the Blue Eagles of WSN, and coach Terrence Walker had a message for his team.

“I told my guys to keep their heads up.  I told them to keep their composure make your shots, and play good defense and we should be able to come back for the win,” said Walker.

While the Tigers trailed all through the third period, the Tigers drew the fouls and made their free throws. It was Senior Night for TRM, and it meant a lot to the seniors affiliated with the TRM basketball program. What seemed to stir up the Tigers energy, was the loud home crowd that was in the stands. “I think it meant a lot to our seniors and our senior sports manager, Michael Floyd. He has a lot of Miller Pride, and got people to come out and support us. The crowd’s energy in the second half, really   made us want to play for a reason” said Walker. The Tigers are the No. 4 seed in the Area 2 Tournament and will play the Flomaton Hurricanes.

Coach Walker and his team looks forward to carrying over the momentum from the previous win to the game at hand.

“The energy and excitement needs to carry over to the game against Flomaton. Flomaton is our new Hwy 31 rivalry, so I think the same intensity from the Neal game needs to carry over,” said Coach Walker.

Even though many have counted the Tigers out, Coach Walker and his boys are ready to pull off the upset in the Area  Tournament.
