Traffic is moving slowly through downtown Brewton at the present time due to a motor vehicle accident between a vehicle and a CSX train.

“Stay clear of the crossing at Hwy. 41 and 31,” Brewton Fire Chief Jeff Salter said. “Train versus vehicle. Traffic is being diverted until CSX releases the train.”

Traffic to and from East Brewton is being diverted through Ann Street under the train trestle.

D.W. McMillan EMS was dispatched to the intersection of Hwys. 31 and 41 around 5:36 p.m.
