Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Tuesday, April 9, the Eagles faced the Greenville Tigers at home. In the first inning, both teams had a good defense. In the second inning, however, the Tigers let their guard down and the Eagles were able to come in and score five runs. Throughout the rest of the game, both teams continued holding each other off. At the bottom of the last inning, the Eagles picked up their offense and scored in three more runs to finish the Tigers off. This game ended in a score of 8-2. Tuesday was also senior night for the Eagles. This year’s seniors were Jacob Crane, Bradley Lowery, and Matthew Thomas. They were each asked questions about their baseball journey throughout the years. Crane stated that the highlight of his year was, “Making good memories with friends that I eventually would call my brothers”. To future players and upcoming seniors, Thomas stated, “You only get one chance to play high school baseball and if you really love the game, then you should appreciate every moment you get to step on that field and wear that Neal jersey. Once it is over, it is over.” Lowery said that his biggest supporter during his entire baseball journey was his dad. He said, “He is the one who sparked my interest in baseball from the start and has been there for me every step of the way”. Congratulations seniors, continue to prosper. On Thursday, April 11, the Eagles played an area double header against Mobile Christian. The boys played their best, however, they could not outplay the leopards. The first game was a tough loss with a final score of 17-0. In the second game, the Eagle defense picked up. Even though the Eagles fought, they were still unable to overcome Mobile Christian. The final score of the second game was 11-0. Next up, the Eagles will face Jay High School on April 15. This is the last in season game. The Eagles will then begin their first round play-offs.
