On May 10, the Troy University Board of Trustees approved a proposal that will keep the current tuition in place for the 2019-2020 academic year.

 

The current undergraduate tuition of $325 per credit hour, graduate tuition of $425 per credit hour and general university fee of $42 per credit hour will remain the same for in-state students in the coming academic year. Tuition for out-of-state students and TROY Online will also remain the same.

 

“This tuition freeze was made possible by the increase in our state appropriation recommended by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and by the Governor and we look forward to its passage by the legislature,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “We are grateful to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, Gov. Kay Ivey and the legislature for addressing the funding gap between TROY and its peer institutions.”

 

Troy University is expecting an increase of $4.2 million in state funding for the 2020 fiscal year, meaning the appropriation from the State of Alabama will total 24 percent of its operating budget.

 

“Troy University remains dedicated to good stewardship of our resources and exercising sound financial management. We are committed to making every effort to identify opportunities to reduce expenses whenever possible without compromising services to students,” Dr. Hawkins said.
