DORIS JEAN JOHNSON THOMPSON

BREWTON, AL

 

Mrs. Doris Jean Johnson Thompson, 72, of Brewton passed away early Saturday morning June 29, 2019 in Brewton.  Mrs. Thompson was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Alabama and was a retired security guard with Container Corporation.  She was of the Holiness faith and was involved in the cancer survivor group at D.W. McMillan Hospital.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny (Kristy) Godwin of Brewton, and  Frankie (Misti) Godwin of Brewton; one brother, Royce (Ellen) Johnson of Brewton; five grandchildren,  Tyson (Jessica) Godwin, Cody Godwin, Cheyanna (Greg) Allen, Dylan Godwin, Dustin Godwin; three great-grandchildren, Emmalee Godwin, Annabelle Godwin, and Shelby Allen;  cousin, Vickie (Greg) Burgin of Mobile; special caregiver, Kristi Benner of Walnut Hill, Florida.

Johnson will be preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Ouida Johnson; brother, Huey Johnson; sister-in-law, Mary Johnson; nephew, John Johnson; and great-nephew, Blaze Johnson.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening June 30, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home Inc.. Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jean Johnson Thompson are scheduled for Monday morning July 1, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. with Rev. Ron Headley officiating.  Interment will follow in Elim Cemetery in the Roberts Community with Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. of Brewton Directing. Pallbearers are Tyson Godwin, Cody Godwin, Dylan Godwin, Dustin Godwin, Greg Allen, Kenny Gibson.

 

CHARLES WESLEY EVERAGE

BREWTON, AL

 

     Charles Wesley Everage, Sr. age 78, a native and life-time resident of Brewton, died on Thursday, June 27 at home after a brief illness.  Mr. Everage was born January 2, 1941, the eldest child of Archie Edward and Elizabeth Bozeman Everage.

     Mr. Everage was a graduate of T.R. Miller High School and attended Troy State College.  He served in the US Army during the end of the Korean Conflict. Upon returning to Brewton, he managed Everage’s Store for a number of years, was a salesman for Gayfers and for Dillards until his retirement.  He was a member of the Rotary Club. After retirement he was active in Habitat for Humanity.

     Mr. Everage is survived by his wife, Sarah Rebecca Barrett Everage, and children, Elizabeth (Libby) Thompson (Lee) and Charles Wesley Everage, Jr. (Beverly).  He is also survived by grandsons Walton Thompson Jr. (Macy) Harrison Thompson, Barrett Thompson, and granddaughter Caitlin Everage.

     Visitation will be held on Sunday June 30 from 2-3 p.m. at Brewton First United Methodist Church with the service to follow. The Rev. Bobby Elisor officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.  Pallbearers are Walton Thompson, Jr, Harrison Thompson, Barrett Thompson, Steve Everage, Jeff Everage, Joseph Billy, Chris Starr and Lance Starr. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.

 

BRENDA LEE MADDEN CAIN

BREWTON, AL

 

Mrs. Brenda Lee Madden Cain, age 61, of Township Lane Brewton, Alabama passed away Saturday June 29, 2019 in a Pensacola, Florida Hospice Facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Milton, Florida and a lifelong resident of Brewton, Alabama. Mrs. Cain attended W.S. Neal School System. She attended the Divine Temple Church, and was a cashier at Circle K.

Cain is survived by her fiance Shane Haskew of Brewton, Alabama; two daughters Tammy (Roland) Bradley of Brewton, Alabama and Tina (Paul Kennedy) Blair of Brewton, Alabama; three step daughters Rebecca Lassiter, Alisha Lassiter, Angel Lassiter; nine grandchildren Cody (Ashley) Bradley, Keith (Marrissa) Bradley, Nicole Padgett, Randall Beasley, Jacob Fox, Gabriel Kennedy, Lexie Kennedy, Kayla Lassiter, Kenzie Lassiter; and seven great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning July 2, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Brewton, Alabama. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday morning July 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery Jay, Florida with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Brewton, Alabama Directing. 

 

 

MARGIE RUTH PAYNE THOMPSON

JAY, FL

Mrs. Margie Ruth Payne Thompson, age 80, of Pogue Thompson Road Jay, Florida passed away Sunday June 30, 2019 in a Pensacola, Florida Hospice Facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Brewton, Alabama, a former resident of San Antonio, Texas and a long time resident of Jay, Florida. Mrs. Thompson was a former seamstress at Judy Bond, Sales Associate from B.C. Moore’s, and a Homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, loved fishing and cooking.

Thompson is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Thompson, Sr. of Jay, Florida; her son Richard Ray “Tommy” (Pam) Thompson, Jr. of Brewton, Alabama; two daughters Ella Renita Thompson of Brewton, Alabama and Anna Renee (Chad Clevenger) of Milton, Florida; three grandchildren Jason (Cary) Pierce, Brittnay Hammac, Courtney Hammac, and Daniel (Mandee) Chavers; four great grandchildren PFC Tyler Pierce, Katie (Daniel) Goforth, Turk Morton, Aiden Chavers; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver Lillie Hendrieth.

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning July 3, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 11a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Brewton, Alabama. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday morning July 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at  Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Dixonville Cemetery Brewton, Alabama with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Brewton, Alabama directing.

 

DELINDA ANN RIDDLE WHITE

BREWTON, AL

 

Delinda Ann Riddle White passed away on June 30, 2019. Born May 24, 1943 in Brewton to the late Charles Pascol Riddle, Sr. and Emily Vonceil Waters. Delinda was a Brewton native, member of W.S Neal class of 1961, and a member of East Brewton First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Delinda is survived by her two sons, Rufus Mason White JR (Dusty) (Kevin) of Kissimmee, FL. Edward Wade White (Brian) of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter Tara Ann White (Lisa) of Decatur, GA, their father Rufus Mason White of Brewton, Al; and two chosen daughters Sharon Hall Stone (Greg) and Susan Hall Cueto (Greg). 

White is preceded in death by her sister Patsy Lavern Span and brother Charles Pascol JR.(Chip). Our mother loved her grand dogs that brought her much joy, so in lieu of flowers please make a donation in her honor to your favorite pet rescue.
