The City of Brewton hosted a benefit concert on Saturday for Drexell & Honeybee’s Donations Only Restaurant. Drexell & Honeybee’s was recently named Alabama’s nicest place by Reader’s Digest, so the city decided to celebrate the restaurant’s accomplishment. The city asked for guests to bring non-perishable food items to donate to Drexell & Honeybee’s. The restaurant owner Lisa McMillan said she is very grateful for all those who donated. A total of $268 was donated along with plenty of canned goods.

“I was so elated that the city decided to share the event with us,” McMillan said. “It was wonderful.”

The event was held at the Hourglass. The Brewton Fire Department cooked free burgers and hotdogs for all who attended. The event also had a live performance by the Marlow Boys.

“We always enjoy celebrating Drexell & Honeybee’s,” the City of Brewton’s Director of Program Management Connie Baggett said. “They have been recognized by many publications, so it feels good to appreciate them. They do a lot for our community.”
