W.S. Neal shows promise in Brewton tournament

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles put up a strong effort in 2019 T.R. Miller Summer Volleyball tournament at Brewton Middle School.

W.S. Neal came out strong in the first match of the day.

The Lady Eagles opened up the day with a big win over Northview.

W.S. Neal jumped out front in the opening match and went on to a 2-0 win.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Eagles fought T.R. Miller to the finish, but fell 2-0 to the Lady Tigers.

T.R. Miller jumped out front in the first set and picked up a 25-13 win.

W.S. Neal wasn’t going to go down without a fight as they came storming out of the gate in the second set.

T.R. Miller was up 9-8 before a surge from the Lady Eagles put W.S. Neal 12-11.

T.R. Miller then tied the game 12-12.

The Lady Eagles then went on a scoring streak to go up 15-12.

The game between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Tigers continued to go back-and-forth.

T.R. Miller battled back to tie the game 19-19.

T.R. Miller went up 22-19 before the Lady Eagles moved closer to make the score 22-21.

However, T.R. Miller went on to win the set 25-22 to win the 2-0.

In middle school action, Andalusia Junior High School knocked off W.S. Neal 2-0.

Andalusia jumped out front in the opening set and went on to a 25-15 win.

W.S. Neal made things interesting in the second set.

The Lady Eagles kept things close, but fell 25-15 in the second set.

In varsity action, W.S. Neal knocked off the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs 2-1.

Andalusia went up 3-1 in the first set, but then things got close.

Both teams continued to battle as W.S. Neal tied the game 21-21.

The Lady Eagles then took a 23-22 lead.

The game went back-and-forth for a few more points before the Lady Eagles were able to pull away for a 28-26 win.

In the second set, Andalusia went up early and pulled away for a 25-14 win to force game three.

W.S. Neal and Andalusia battled back-and-forth in the third game as the Lady Eagles picked up a 17-15 victory to win the match 2-1.
