The National Weather Service in Mobile produced an updated version of the expected track for Tropical Storm Nestor. According to Escambia County EMA Director David Adams, the storm has shifted more to the east than earlier forecasts.

“This means that the threat of impacts to Escambia County, Ala. has lessened somewhat,” said Adams.

Rain and wind are expected to impact the area over the next 24 hours. Adams continued, “We should see some breezy and rainy conditions increase late Friday evening and into Friday night.  Conditions should improve through the morning Saturday.  Severe conditions or tropical storm force winds are not expected in Escambia County with this system.”

Encouraging everyone to stay alert, Adams concluded, “Please stay tuned to local radio and TV stations for possible changes in the forecast.”

More information about the storm will be shared as it becomes available.
