James Louie Blackman has passed away at age 91. He died in the afternoon of October 12, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

He was born February 15, 1928 to John and Inez Blackman. He held many different jobs throughout his life, but some of his favorites included IRC&D Motor Freight Company where he was a truck driver, Hudson Oil Company where he managed gas stations, and he retired from Escambia County, Ala.as a maintenance foreman.

He enjoyed the game of checkers, planted vegetable gardens, hunted, fished, and most of all he loved to sing and play  his guitar.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marybelle Croy Blackman of 56 years.

He will be missed dearly by his siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of those that knew and loved him.
